About The Director
Joel Thomas
Pastor Joel Thomas is an ordained Minister and has been involved in Ministerial work for many years.
He has been an educator for 42 years in both the public and private sector. Mr. Thomas has served in various positions within the Education System, including Acting teacher, Substitute Teacher, Senior Master and Principal.
He worked for several years with the Administration of Children Services as a Child Protective Specialist in New York City. During this time, he amassed a wealth of experience in the field of child welfare.
Mr. Thomas believes that the didactic approach to educating our children should not be based on a "one cap fits all" scenario. He believes that each child is unique and that instructions should be tailored to synchronize with the child's frame of reference. For example, their learning style and learning preferences.
Mr. Thomas believes that the school should work closely with the child's family and home school district in helping the student to develop skills, attitudes and values that would prepare them for the real world scenario.
He predicates that children need to learn that " The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge" (Proverbs 1:7).

I love that I can use the computers to do research and learn more about different topics.

Adjua Sampson
I am convinced that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. My life’s mission as an educator is to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. The elements conducive to establishing such an environment are, teacher acting as a guide, allowing the child's natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and promoting respect for all things and all people.
